Company Profile
One of the world’s largest airlines, operating an extensive network of international and domestic flights that carry passengers and cargo across a major hub-and-spoke system. It runs a large aircraft maintenance, repair, and engineering operation alongside its flight business, employs tens of thousands of people, and manages a vast enterprise back office spanning finance, procurement, asset management, and operations.
Challenge
A business-critical Winshuttle program at end of life
At the airline, 156 business users leaned on sprawling Winshuttle deployments to move data into SAP across purchase orders, assets, and finance master data. Hundreds of desktop scripts, maintained per user, carried the load. Licensing cost rose with every user added, and nothing governed the deployments: no shared approvals, no dashboard, no audit trail across 350-plus scripts.
Then Winshuttle Foundation reached end of life. Upgrading in place meant paying to keep an aging, ungoverned data-loading tool alive, when the business needed to move the process off it entirely, without disrupting the daily operations that depended on it.
Solution
Agents that run the process, not just load data
Our client engaged WonderBotz, which leveraged proprietary frameworks and accelerators to move the prior program off Winshuttle onto a modern, governed automation platform. Rather than porting scripts one for one, the team rationalized 350-plus scripts to the 210 that mattered and rebuilt them as 10 reusable, composable agents running against SAP centrally, preserving the logic users depended on.
A self-service portal became the single front door, with pre-formatted templates and no scripting required. Approvals run through Outlook and Teams, role-based access replaces per-user ownership, and a live dashboard adds status tracking, error retry, and scheduling. Delivered across 8 domains in wave-based go-lives and validated against legacy results, the cutover landed with no operational disruption.
Where Winshuttle loaded data, the new platform runs the process around it, an extensible agentic foundation that reaches well beyond SAP.
