Company Profile
US-based industrial-asset advisory and disposition firm, a long-established specialist in valuations, appraisals, auctions, and liquidations of machinery and equipment, often in bankruptcy, restructuring, and distressed-sale contexts. Challenge
Legacy on-prem systems requiring cloud-first modernization
This organization faced a significant challenge migrating its legacy system from an on-prem setup to the cloud in an effort to support their AI and automation initiatives. The system was made up of several different services that relied heavily on shared storage, SQL-linked servers, and hardcoded dependencies, making it difficult to modernize. The migration presented additional hurdles, including setting up a secure CI/CD pipeline for tightly coupled services, ultimately transferring 2TB+ of continuously growing data, and enabling secure database access for an automation application from outside the cloud. Ensuring business continuity during the transition was non-negotiable for the company’s leadership.
Solution
Successful cloud migration with enhanced security ensuring business continuity
WonderBotz executed a seamless lift-and-shift migration of the legacy system to the Cloud. To account for the growing data, we devised a robust incremental backup strategy to minimize downtime and mitigate downtime risk. The solution also allowed business intelligence applications to access the cloud-hosted database thus enhancing security.
The complex, dependency-heavy system was able to migrate to the cloud with minimal downtime. This end-to-end approach ensured the system was modernized for cloud operations while maintaining the functionality and reliability of the legacy setup.
