Company Profile

North American beverage-system shared-services organization, owned by dozens of independent bottlers in a major global soft-drink franchise system, providing customer business solutions, back-office services, and procurement to its bottler-owners and other beverage-system partners under a unified-voice model that drives system-wide value.

Challenge

This large shared-services provider had buyers and buying groups, throughout the United States, each with its own pricing, discounts and distribution models. Inconsistencies in the price charged resulted in revenue leakage due and pricing disputes. With such a variety of different customer contracts and promotions, this client needed standardized data. Management wanted a way to ensure accurate price adjustments and reconciliation across all associated systems. Management also wanted real-time forecasts of product discounts, seasonal or event-driven promotions to reconcile with the SKU-level pricing on record.

Solution

Automation digitally captures pricing information, using Intelligent Data Processing (IDP) technology to read the pricing data from a variety of documents. As necessary, people use a verification station to review the extracted pricing and compare to the underlying documents. It then updates associated records across all affected systems, eliminating the need for manual data checks and price adjustments. It uses machine learning to add to the variety of documents it can handle.
