Challenge
Automation backlog awaiting implementation
During the six months spent migrating their automation program to a new platform, this financial services firm’s RPA CoE fell behind on their automation pipeline goals. This resulted in a backlog of hundreds of automation implementation candidates for mission-critical processes across multiple departments, all of which required immediate review and action. Financial leadership needed help with analysis, design, development, and rapid deployment of these intelligent automations on their new platform.
Solution
WonderBotz Podz staff up for mass automation implementation
WonderBotz maintains a bench of industry MVP lead developers, solutions architects and RPA controllers. Through our Podz staffing program, we were able to augment their CoE with over 75 team members across multiple disciplines. To tackle this enormous automation backlog, the team adopted an agile assembly-line approach. Automations were reviewed, prioritized, and separated into batches, and team members were separated into smaller, focused groups dedicated to documentation, design, or other production tasks. As an automation batch moved from one delivery stage to the next, team members seamlessly moved on to the next batch to keep the project moving forward smoothly. This mass automation implementation resulted in the development of over 400 automations in just 15 months and eliminated their automation backlog. By the end of the project, efficiency increased by 25% and 20 business units were impacted across multiple departments. Team members also generated the necessary lifecycle documents to set the client up for success in the continued maintenance of their program.
