Manual employee background checks
This global IT infrastructure provider has several high-profile clients with strict confidentiality requirements for employees working with them. The company performs background checks on all its employees every two years to ensure compliance. They also need to make sure that background checks are performed on newly hired employees.
The HR staff responsible for running these background checks needed to connect to multiple systems to retrieve and verify the data. Manually verifying data for each employee caused bottlenecks in the process and was vulnerable to human error. These bottlenecks worsened as headcounts increased and HR resources were spread thin.
Leadership needed a solution that could accurately perform the work and reduce the burden on the HR staff. They also needed the solution to be able to scale with the company as it grew.

Automated background checks
WonderBotz provided a custom automation solution that could gather and aggregate data across multiple sources. At the start of each month, the solution searches the employee database to generate a list of employees due for a background check. It also checks daily for new employees in need of background checks.
When an employee is identified for a background check, the solution confirms the employee in the HR portal and initiates a background check package based on their location, applying more detailed packages to new employees. The solution notifies the HR team when a check has been completed. It also reports any exceptions that require human intervention.
Automating the background check process eliminated data entry errors, saved 340 hours per year, and allowed employees to be reassigned to higher value tasks.
