Challenge

Employee and contractor offboarding and account dormancy result in 100,000+ requests each year to remove or adjust user access to over 100 applications. Requested by frontline managers in and managed through ServiceNow, IT shared services team would manually cut personnel access to an individual application or drop them from an active directory (AD) group assignment.  Leadership sought to reduce the daily workload while speeding fulfillment times.

Solution

WonderBotz team members built an extensible framework automation that utilizes the ServiceNow API to receive, update and close tickets and RPA connectors to interface to individual target applications and the AD groups. Target applications are added to scope based upon their total annual volume of access requests from highest to lowest.  Activity reports are generated daily for infosec review for ongoing SOX compliance.
