Challenge

On an ad-hoc basis, the revenue team processes requests to deactivate pricing rate codes incorrectly assigned to a category or aligned to a closed promotion. This involved navigating the reservation system to modify codes and sharing a status report in multiple channels. Initial attempts to automate deactivation failed because the underlying GRS application was volatile and frequently updated. Leadership sought a resilient solution to handle the repetitive deactivation tasks regardless of volume.

Solution

The client worked closely with WonderBotz solution designers to rebuild the processing logic. The solution retrieves a list of hotel IDs from a secured folder. It then connects to the GRS, checks the rate code or the rate category, and deactivates them as needed. The solution generates and distributes a status report to indicate which items were successfully completed and which require follow up from the revenue team. The enhanced automation processes rate codes and rate categories similarly, saving time and streamlining the process.
